What's it all about?
A 3-day festival of experimental music, sound and performance. This year we've pulled in a clutch of artists to create a series of events that each explore different aspects of music that doesn't quite fit any given category.

What this requires of you
An open mind, an interest in things that don't fit into the normal, given categories, and to be in Glasgow between the 15th and 17th Feb 2008. Not much else. Well, let's be honest; you'll need a ticket. But we've made them real cheap: a mere tenner for a day or 25 quid for the whole lot. But then that's not much; it's cheaper than last year.
Call 0141 565 1000 or visit www.thearches.co.uk to book your tickets, find out where the Arches is, how to get there, accessibility and the like.
Thank you
Many thanks to all our supporters.
Where to stay
If you're needing accommodation in Glasgow during the fest, we have some ideas.

Expansive and considered, inclusive and deeply human minimalism.
Antoine Beuger, Radu Malfatti, Manfred Werder
These guys compose some of the most interesting, (and quietly radical) music in Europe right now. Where so much music these days is, in Radu's words "incessantly gabby", the Wandelweiser group of musicians focus on the phenomenology of sound, and its placement in time. They sort of strive constantly to discover the exact point at which sound resonates the clearest: in Glasgow using wind instruments (maybe a flute, a trombone) they'll place sounds with great care into a calm and ordered hush, drawing you in, asking you to concentrate, to listen. Theirs is a music that doesn't leap out for attention, but simply needs to exist in the world, kind of like it's simply also present in our lives: you can choose to come to it, or not.
We've set up a separate space at INSTAL so that Antoine, Radu and Manfred can present their work in a sympathetic setting, somewhere relaxed, informal; where you can choose to spend some time and also be present with their work. They'll perform there over the whole festival, play chess, have a chat, pull in some other musicians from the event to collaborate. We won't announce what'll happen, just take it as read that something will always be going on.
Throughout the festival - just go and check it out. Go to the corridor just off the café bar and follow the signs.
